DC Super Heroes Cafe – A MIGHTY Good Meal!

CONFESSION: I am a HUGE comic book superhero geek. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid! I remember that my first comic book was a $0.50 Green Arrow comic πŸ˜›

Now, we have all heard of DC Super Heroes Cafe and over the years, we’ve passed by wondering when they day would come that they would finally be certified Halal. Well, that day has arrived!
DC Super Heroes Cafe has 2 outlets here in Singapore and they are certified Halal!

Judging that buzz when they first announced it, I can see that many people had also been looking forward to the day LOL I can imagine the excitement especially for the kids! After all, DC Super Heroes Cafe is officially licensed by Warner Bros. This means that you’ll get the legit experience in terms of both awesome food and the whole superhero experience when you dine there.

But okay okay, enough chit-chat it’s time for the food! πŸ˜€
(They have a VERY extensive menu that I think even Brainiac would have trouble keeping up)

Arkham Asylum Chili-Cheese Friesanity ($15.90)

Starting off with a real rocker here – Arkham Asylum Chili-Cheese Friesanity is an insanely great choice to start the meal. But hey, we all go a little crazy sometimes *Lex Luthor stare*

Golden fries topped off with a generous serving of Chili Concarne and then topped off with a whole load of Mozzarella Cheese, Parmesan Cheese and Jalapeno for that extra kick! Really shiok to dig into this! Great choice to share so everyone gets their appetite going for the big feast ahead!

PS those flowers are totally edible okay don’t worry Poison Ivy is nowhere around LOL

Hawkgirl’s Wings ($13.90 for 6pc)

Fret not – these are not Hawkgirl’s actual wings but instead some really tasty chicken wings! These chicken wings are coated in this really delicious Garlic Honey sauce. Kinda reminds me a little of like Korean Chicken Wings. You’re gonna be licking your fingers for sure LOL They’ve also got the fried version too (Battle Mace Chicken Drumlets) if you’d like.

There are plenty of other Starters to choose from too including the Aquaman Chili Squid Squad, Loco Nacho of the Clown Prince of Crime and Killer Croc’s Signature Soup Puddle (which is actually Mushroom Soup btw). Yes, they really went all out on the dish names ?

The Dark Knight Burger ($30.90)

The first of the mains swooped in and it was a BIG ONE! The The Dark Knight Burger is a great choice for not just for fans of The Caped Crusader but for anyone looking for a really good burger!

The patty is WAGYU BEEF and totally SEDAP! Super juicy and flavourful! Just beware of the juices flowing everywhere when you take a bite… it’s THAT juicy! SHIOK!

Pair the Wagyu Beef patty with Portobello Mushroom, tomatoes and some cheese and you’ve got a winner. True to its name, everything is held in between a Dark Knight Burger Charcoal Bun. It comes served with an insanely generous amount of fries and some Mesclun Salad for good measure. Definitely a great choice if you love burgers! πŸ˜€

They also have other burgers on the menu including the Superman’s Smallville (Chicken) Burger, Arthur’s (aka Aquaman) Salmon Burger, Plant OA Green Spinach Burger (great for vegetarians!) and even an Aquman vs Black Manta Burger which is a Mentai Prawn + Cheese patty.

FUN FACT: Batman celebrates his 80th anniversary this year (2019)! My favourite Batman comic is ‘The Killing Joke’ (y’all should definitely read it!)

Doomsday Chicken Waffles ($29.90)

If you’re looking for something other than burgers, there are plenty of other super choices on the menu. Another signature hot seller they have is the Doomsday Chicken Waffles. I mean, Chicken & Waffles had become more and more popular over recent times and this was a pretty good version!

You’ve got a pair of fresh waffles along with some tender, juicy Chicken Katsu. Some places served their Chicken & Waffles with fried chicken parts but I actually prefer cutlets like this because it’s boneless and goes best with the waffles πŸ˜€

They drizzle cheese sauce all over and it’s SEDAP! You’ve also got some cocktail chicken sausages (enjoy with the cheese sauce!) and some curly twister fries on the side. If you want more fries, you can order the Robin’s Seasoned Sidekick fries (like the ones served with the Dark Knight Burger) or more Lasso of Truth (curly) Fries on the side.

Now that I think about it, this might actually be a great choice for the kids! They can share if there are a few and everyone’s happy. Or perhaps the alternative Metropolis Chicken Hotdog Stand might also be a good choice. Anyways they’ve also got a separate menu with plenty of Kids’ Meal choices so don’t worry πŸ™‚

Smallville Special Roasted Chicken ($25.00)

WOW this was the sleeper surprise hit of the meal! I mean, we knew that the food was going to be good but this was a dish that we ordered and it was definitely one of the big hits of the meal for sure.

The Smallville Special Roasted Chicken is actually a very simple dish of a whole Roast Chicken served with some fries and a salad. Something so simple and yet so perfectly done! The chicken was juicy, tender and tasty perfection. Best enjoyed with the savoury brown gravy that comes on the side of course πŸ˜›

This is a dish worth ordering! You can obviously share it lah but I won’t be surprised if a big eater can whack this whole thing by themselves LOL (And no, Hawkman was not harmed in the making of this dish)

Actually right, there are soooooo many other mains you can consider. They have steaks, other chicken dishes and even seafood like Salmon and Fish & Chips etc. They even have a section of the menu that offers Asian delights like Curry Chicken and Claypot Rice! They’ve got something for everyone at DC Super Heroes Cafe! And I have to say they have some really interesting names for the dishes too LOL!

Gone Bizarro for Bolognaise ($26.90)

They’ve also got some great Pasta and Pizza choices at DC Super Heroes Cafe. Case in point – you can’t go wrong with a classic like the Gone Bizarro for Bolognaise.

Spaghetti with a beefy tomato sauce always hits the spot! And do not be alarmed – they did not place the Superman logo the wrong way lah! πŸ˜› Did we mention that they’ve got SIX different pasta dishes for you to choose?

FUN FACT – Bizarro is actually a ‘clone’ of Superman but is the exact opposite of Superman (am I making sense?). Besides Superman, there have also been Bizarro versions of other DC characters including Batman and Joker!

Blue Cheese Brawler Pizza ($26.90)

Had quite a hard time deciding which pizza to choose from the menu… They’ve got like 7 different types including classics like Hawaiian and Seafood to even a Calzone!

In the end, we went with a classic – an all cheese pizza! The Blue Cheese Brawler Pizza comes with Blue, Emmental , Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheeses – 4 different types for all you cheese lovers! What gives their pizzas the edge? They have an actual Dome Wood Oven and all pizzas are made to order! Fresh and sedap!

Batsy Orer Milkshake, Flying Colour Super Fuel and HA HA HA
Cyborg Ferrero Rocher Rumble, Shazam’s Tropical Magic, Green Arrow Chocolate Mint Milkshake

The beverages at DC Super Heroes Cafe were as awesome as the food! And there are also SO MANY to choose from! From Fruit Teas to Coffees to Milkshakes to Mocktails and even Smoothies!

We went for a super big mix of a bit of everything and it was all awesome. Not only are they tasty but they even come all ‘dressed up’ with special glasses and decorations! Feast for the eyes and the tummy πŸ˜› You can also purchase smaller version of these cute glasses from their store – even comes with a cape!

PRO TIP: If you love Mint Chocolate (like me!) then trust me – order the Green Arrow Chocolate Mint Milkshake!

Dark Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Fudge Cake
Oreo Cheese Cake

We just enough space saved up for some for desserts but we could only manage some slices of cake πŸ˜€ But even then, they’ve got about a dozen cakes or so for you to choose from! LOL good luck making that decision because they’re all so tempting!

There are also Waffles, Ice-Cream and the very aptly named ‘Freakshakes’ which are these monster milkshakes that are definitely worthy of an Instagram shot or two. But you’d better be as fast as The Flash before someone else enjoys your dessert for you πŸ˜›

Okay so now that we’re done talking about the food, I’d like to say a little something about the whole experience when you visit DC Super Heroes Cafe…

Like I said at the beginning of the post, I’m a big comic book superhero fan and visiting this place really brought back a lot of memories. I mean, I really felt like a kid again. And everything in this cafe, from floor to ceiling is designed to make you go WOW and immerse you into the awesome world of superheroes. From the furniture to the decor! And since this place is officially licensed by Warner Bros, this means they get dibs on all sorts of movie memorabilia including life-sized statues and props and pretty much all sorts of awesome and magical stuff.

Even if you’re not a fan, I’m pretty sure your jaw is going to be on the floor when you see the effort that’s gone into making this a 100% DC Super Heroes haven. So ask you tuck into a delicious meal with family and friends, you’ll be among heroes. And who knows, maybe you’ll find a new appreciation for comic book culture πŸ˜€

PS this could be the perfect venue for your next office function or birthday party! Did someone say Superhero Party?

FUN FACT: The giant mural on the window is actually the cover of Justice Vol. 1 by Alex Ross.
It’s AWESOME lah!
