The NEW Century Square has re-opened after a lengthy renovation and although it’s been open for awhile now, we’re getting a clear picture of the Halal makan places within now! Almost all the makan places which applied have (just) received their certificates and are are running full steam ahead!
There are several malls in that same area and I think it’s safe to say that we are spoiled for choice! At least we know that there are plenty of choices lah right. So I want to take this opportunity to congratulate my fellow Tampines residents (and also basically the East Side lah) on having more power makan and would also like to invite makan kakis from all over Singapore to come a visit 😀 (Singapore very small lah confirm plus chop you can make it one)

There’s no way you haven’t heard of FatPapas by now right?? This Halal spin-off of FatBoys has gone to the top of the list for many when it comes to Western grub. But it’s not just their burgers that are making waves – be sure to try their specials like the Ribs and Country Fried Steak too! Don’t forget to holla at Sheikh and Anna Belle if you see them there okay!

I’m used to people saying 심쿵 when they see me but I think we’ll be saying it when we see these sandwiches in person 😛

The first time we saw D’Laksa was in JB (when we visited Sutera Mall :D) and although we’ve always wanted to try it, we never really did! Too many things to eat there lah 😛 Well, there’s no excuse now! D’Laksa actually has a couple of other outlets already operating in Singapore (and certified Halal)
They specialize in Asam Laksa and Rojak Buah! Add in some of their solid fishballs too!
BEST PART – they have this giant hanging dispenser where they squeeze out the petis (fermented prawn paste)!

We’ve had plenty of Ayam Penyet(s) but believe it not, we haven’t tried Ayam Penyet President before LOL Although it has definitely gained immense popularity over the years! They have retained a spot at the Century Square basement and I reckon it’s time for us to pay a visit soon.

Indulge in some crispy fried chicken and also look out for their special menu items from time to time (right now, it’s the Korean-inspired Maewoyo Chikin! But whatever it is, be sure to get extras of their awesome Honey Butte Biscuits!

Beef Bro was massively popular during this year’s bazaar at Geylang Serai especially with the star power of Danial Ashriq. Well, he may no longer be with the brand but Beef Bro is still flaming up their popular Beef Cubes!
Popular choices are the Mentaiko Beef Cubes although they may be a bit pricey. Plenty of other alternatives including one of our surprise faves – the Mentaiko Chicken Cubes!

16. THE FOOD MARKET BY FOOD JUNCTION

The food court at Century Square is called The Food Market and they definitely have more than a few Halal options there. A total of NINE stalls are expected to be certified Halal!!
Buntong Chicken Rice, Puchong Yong Tau Foo, Hong Kong Beef King, Minang Nasi Padang, Halim’s Sliced Fish Soup, Ah Po Hokkien Mee, JJ Korean Cuisine and Fire Western N Grill are now all certified Halal! (Only Saravanaa Bhavan still pending certification!)
