Here’s a quickie for y’all and something that’s actually pretty interesting!
We received an email with an invite to Thawfeek Cuisine where a pretty unique dish was being served up. Okay lah, so the dish is not really something new but they way it’s being served is definitely something we have not seen anywhere else.
We all love a good serving of the classic Mee Kuah right! Noodles swimming in a nice, hearty, peppery broth with bits of meat and an egg for good measure. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it π
So how do you jazz up an already classic dish like this? Pretty simply actually – get it nice and bubbling hot in a claypot! FUYOH!! Yeah I know I know… it seems really simple right? But think about it – what a difference a claypot would make.
But what else is different besides just serving the Mee Kuah in a claypot?
Well, besides keeping that delicious broth nice and hot while you slurp down your noodles, the other main difference we noted is the meat. In the ‘normal’ servings of Mee Kuah, there was a little bit of minced (mutton) meat here and there (y’all know what I mean right) but in the Claypot version, there was actually a pretty generous serving of these meaty (mutton) chunks. SUPER TENDER!!
And I don’t need to mention that glorious egg that comes with right? π
Like we mentioned before, they also have the regular Mee Kuah served up in a regular bowl of course. And of course, it’s still actually very good (the kuah is POWER!!) to be honest.
But given the choice to add $2.00 for the Claypot version, we’re gonna go for the claypot π
Even my Mum whacked the whole Claypot Mee Kuah finished clean!
(But do take note – the Mee Kuah Claypot is only available after 2pm!)
They’ve also got all your usual Mamak favourites there including all the goreng-gorengs (including Mee Goreng Combo!), Mutton Chop and even Roti John too. Judging by the power kuah in their Mee Kuah, next on our list is their Sup Kambing and Tulang Merah!
CLAYPOT MEE KUAH FTW!!
