This is the part when I make some really lame cool joke like ‘FLAME ON!’ or ‘Let the Flame Games begin!’.
But… I shall refrain this time. (See what I did there?) π
What I will definitely do is tell you that Flame Cafe is definitely a new hot spot to gather the gang for a unique steamboat and grill experience. Oh yeah, I’m talking about – Pagoda Steamboat!
But why is it called Pagoda? Well, it’s pretty obvious once you see it actually LOL
You see what I mean right?
The Pagoda Steamboat experience gives you something that you probably won’t find anywhere else. I mean, yeah we can get steamboat and table BBQ. But they’re literally taking this to the next level. Or should I say.. Levels!
4 different levels of steamboat, BBQ grill, fondue and steaming await you at Flame Cafe. Where else can you find this level of action eh? In fact, there’s even more to enjoy at Flame Cafe than just that.They’ve got every angle covered!
But let’s start at the beginning and then we’ll slowly cover everything okay. Let’s begin at Level 1.
Level 1 is where your Soup Base goes. Plenty of stuff you can enjoy by letting is simmer and boil in your choice of soup base which ranges from the ‘super spicy’ to the ‘suitable for kids’.
We went for the Mala which is probably the spiciest option on the menu but all you fans of spicy hot may also want to consider the Tom Yum base. The other option we choose was the Chicken (which is the default when you take the basic Deluxe Set but more on that later okay!). Milder options include the Herbal Tonic and the Tomato.
And of course, there’s plenty of stuff to be put into Levels 1 and 2 for a start!
PLENTY TO CHOOSE FROM! We’re talking about meats, seafood, vegetable and all sorts of extras galore! The selection may rotate from time to time (to ensure quality and freshness of course) but you’re guaranteed of a sheer abundance of goodies to enjoy whether it be for the soups or for the BBQ Grill level.
Speaking of BBQ Grill!
Pile it up as much as you’d like and let those meats simmer til cooked tender and prepare to chomp down π I personally recommend the ‘Garlic Spicy Chicken’ but I’m pretty sure you’ll find something you like out of all the marinated meats they have on offer there at Flame Cafe.
Let’s not forget the seafood items too! Scallops, prawns and squid are always a good idea!
And all these are even better when combined with Level 3 of your Pagoda Steamboat!

It ain’t easy being cheesy and that’s for sure LOL
Here we go with Level 3! This is probably the fave part for a lot of us LOL because it’s where we can choose what special dipping sauce you’d like π
We (obviously) chose the cheese which they allow to slowly melt with the heat from the Pagoda Steamboat as your meal progresses. Gooey, cheesy goodness is always a good thing!! Look at that stretch!!
Besides Cheese, you could also go for… SALTED EGG! Sigh it’s such a hard choice between Salted Egg and Cheese lah right… I wish we could choose both LOL π But now that I mention that, I’m also quite curious about the 3rd choice – Mongolian. I have NO idea what it’s like and I forgot to ask but sounds quite interesting leh.
We’ve finally reached the peak of the Pagoda Steamboat! Level 4 is a small compartment where you can put stuff in to steam away. This includes seafood like Salmon, Prawns, Crayfish, Clams and much more plus some special items like dumplings (Siew Mai!!) and some Dim Sum like Salted Egg Bun.
PRO TIP: Load up the Level 4 steamer first when start on the rest of your steamboat / BBQ so that by the time the rest of the stuff is loaded up, your steamed food is almost ready!
Anyways, whether it’s Level 1,2,3 or 4 – I’m sure y’all are gonna wanna add some extra kick to your food right?
They have a whole counter that’s dedicated to condiments and sauces and chilli! Take your pick from your faves including the fiery chili padi or the ‘goes with everything’ Sweet Thai chili sauce. I personally recommend that you experiment and make your own combination sauce!
Before we proceed to the last bit, I think it’s the best time to show y’all that chart above which shows you the different sets you can choose – all the way from Deluxe (which is the basic) to the Supreme (which comes with loads of extras which will go to next)!
So far, what we have covered is what you can enjoy in the Deluxe and Supreme sets. There’s definitely plenty to choose from with those 2 sets for your Pagoda Steamboat. From meats to seafood and veggies and pretty much all you need to have a great meal at Flame Cafe.
But if you’d like to take it up to the next level, then you should seriously get the Supreme.

So the Supreme package unlocks a whole host of power stuff for you! Fresh Oysters! Cheesy Oysters! Fresh Lobster!! And that’s just what we had when we visited! There’s MORE too! Like LIVE Crab (make it Chili Crab!) and more seafood stuff like King Prawns and Flower Crabs for you to add to your Pagoda Steamboat.
Totally worth it and highly recommended π
SPECIAL BONUS ROUND! This one is for the kids (or the kid in you also can LOL). Because, let’s face it, (most) kids may not find the Pagoda Steamboat as fascinating as us so it’s good to have some alternatives right?
At Flame Cafe, they have this DIY Pizza where you choose from an array of sauces and toppings then you buid your pizza and have it cooked in this mini-oven thing they have there! Fun, simple and you can make any pizza you’d like!
Lest I not forget to mention that there’s plenty of beverages to choose from as well. Usual faves like your dispenser soft drinks are present but go for something a little different like the Thai Milk Tea!
They’ve also got ice-cream by the way π
