Lemongrass – Thai Flavours Fit For Royalty!

Thai cuisine has always been a hot favourite and it’s easy to see why. Mouth-watering flavours that manage to meld all the sedap-ness of Thai food into a dish ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ If you’re looking for a makan spot to satisfy your Thai food cravings – Lemongrass is definitely a top choice!

If you’re looking for your Thai food fix, Lemongrass has got you covered. I’m talking about everything from rice & noodles to salads to soups to sides and even some awesome sharing platters! In fact, we are spoiled for choice with the extensive menu at Lemongrass ๐Ÿ˜ We tried some of their signatures during our last visit and we’re gonna run them down for you.

First up is something that’s a perfect sharing platter to accompany your royal feast!

Royal Platter
Truffled And Grilled Ribeye
Grilled Chicken
Crispy Seabass

FUYOH check out that Royal Platter! And those photos above are just the main components (I’ll show you the rest in awhile don’t worry LOL).

There are actually 3 sharing platters – the Crispy Whole Seabass Platter, Truffled Grilled Ribeye Platter and the Grilled Chicken Platter. But if have a big makan group or simply can’t decide which one you’d like then why not have them all? That’s where the Royal Platter comes in! You get ALL THREE of those delicious main components as part of your platter ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

There’s something for everyone to enjoy for sure. Plus, all the sharing platters come with 4 side dishes too so there’s even more to makan!

Papaya Salad
Crispy Drumlet and Stuffed Wings
Chicken Meatballs
Stir-fry Kai Lan

Side dishes like Papaya Salad, Chicken Meatballs, Stir-fry Kai Lan, Crispy Drumlets and Stuffed Wings are found on all their sharing platters on the menu so there’s no need to have #FOMO ok ๐Ÿ˜ In fact, these and so many more side dishes can be found on the menu at Lemongrass.

I’m talking about familiar faves like Thai Fishcakes, Crispy Kang Kong and even CRISPY CHICKEN SKIN (I regret not trying when we visited ๐Ÿ˜ญ so I’ve gotta go back for that!!). But with those appetizers and sides, you’ve gotta have some main dishes to go along am I right?

Tom Yum Mee Goreng with Prawns

Pad Thai with Grilled Chicken

Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawns

Those are 3 dishes which many may be familiar with and probably enjoyed many times in the past. They’ve got a wide range of rice and noodle dishes to choose from and I’m thinking that these might 3 of the most popular.

The Tom Yum Mee Goreng is power! You’re gonna get that awesome Tom Yum flavour kick here with every bite ๐Ÿ”ฅ SUPER SHIOK! I went with the Prawns here but you also have the choice of Beef or Chicken too. Don’t forget to squeeze the calamansi to make the flavours pop even more ok!

In case you’re worried about the spicy-ness or maybe you’re ordering for the kiddos, maybe the Pad Thai might be the perfect choice. It’s not spicy but still packed with flavour plus you even get to choose from Ribeye, Seafood or Grilled Chicken to accompany your Pad Thai noodles. There’s even a Vegetarian version too ๐Ÿ˜ Other noodle dishes to choose form include Wok Fried Tang Hoon, Tom Yum Seafood Mama, Fried Fish Kway Teow and also some pasta dishes like Tom Yum Pasta and Meatball Marinara among others.

Last but not least – we also tried the Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawns. This has always been a personal favourite of mine and almost a MUST ORDER for me when I enjoy Thai food. FUN FACT: Pineapple Fried Rice was actually created in Singapore but has become synonymous with Thai food over the decades! It definitely captures the essence of Thai cuisine well and the one at Lemongrass is no exception ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

As always, there are plenty of other dishes to choose from including Basil Chicken Rice, Prawn/Chicken Fried Rice, Sambal Fried Rice and Sweet & Sour Chicken Rice plus plenty more. It would be perfect to pair your rice or noodle dish with other tasty faves like Tom Yum Soup, Green Curry or even more Beef & Chicken dishes like Thai Garlic Beef or Satay Chicken among others.

Ong Lai Hot Seabass

I am actually saving the best for last because I enjoyed this dish the most and am literally craving for it as I type this out ๐Ÿ˜… The Ong Lai Hot Seabass is one of the signature dishes at Lemongrass and I can definitely say it’s SO SO SEDAP!

A crispy whole Seabass is served in a spicy-sour broth that is so addictive that you’re gonna keep going back for more after every bite for sure. The broth is super flavourful, goes perfectly with the fish and has the right amount of spicy kick that makes it super addictive ๐Ÿ”ฅ On top of all that – the dish comes served in a flaming hot pan which keeps it bubbling hot ๐Ÿคค I found myself just going back for more and more FUYOH it was so shiok!

Atop the seabass, you’ll also find a generous heaping of Kang Kong which actually makes this a complete meal. Just give me this dish with white rice and a Crispy Omelette and it’s SETTLED! In fact, I think that’s exactly what I’ll order for my next visit. The Ong Lai Hot Seabass is just that shiok!

They do have more seafood on the menu including Steamed Whole Seabass, Sweet & Sour / Sambal Crispy Seabass, Sambal Sotong and Sambal Mussels among others. Take your pick of your favourite seafood accompaniment to your feast!

Mango Sticky Rice
Red Ruby
Cro-ffle

We obviously had to round off our royal feast on a sweet note with some desserts ๐Ÿ˜ We went with both traditional Thai desserts and also something that will surely be a hit with the kids too.

In my mind, Mango Sticky Rice and Red Ruby are the quintessential Thai desserts. I’m sure these are among the first names that comes to mind for you too right ๐Ÿ˜‰. Get your fix right here at Lemongrass as a sweet ending to your meal. Other traditional desserts include Queen’s Mango Sticky Rice (comes with Coconut Ice Cream!) and Chendol too.

We decided to try the Cro-ffle because we’re a sucker for ice-cream hehehe! This Croissant-Waffle hybrid comes with a scoop of ice-cream and more toppings like whipped cream and chocolate chips. You even get a choice of ice-cream flavours – Vanilla, Chocolate or Strawberry. You can also go for the their classic Waffles or even just Ice-Cream on its own too. Level up with some Black Pearls or Nata de Coco toppings!

PS We washed down our meal with some refreshing beverages namely Thai Milk Tea and Cookies & Cream Overload Milkshake! Highly recommended and there are plenty more to enjoy including Coconut Shake ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Lemongrass is definitely a hidden gem and a great place to get your fix of delicious Thai food and more. It’s very spacious so it’s perfect for your next makan sessions with family and friends for sure. Even if you’re looking for a quick meal, you can always pop-in for breakfast, lunch or dinner when you’re in the area (yes they have breakfast too!).

Be sure to check out this highly recommended makan spot! I’m already planning my next visit! I promise to try my best to sample more new dishes from their extensive menu ok! โœŒ๐Ÿผ But that Ong Lai Hot Seabass is calling me ๐Ÿ˜
