Is it just us or is the burger making a comeback! 😛

Oh yaaaassssssss over the past couple of years, it seems to be that the all-time classic burger is regaining popularity with the people! And no, I’m not talking about the kind you open out of a wrapper in a fast food joint. I’m talking about the good ol’ flippin’ patties on the grill and serving up some tasty meat in between buns!

Yeah, some extras are nice too 😀 but you get the idea right?

At the recently opened Pasir Ris Hawker Centre, where the 2nd floor (known as the ‘Fareground’) is filled with… not quite your average hawker stalls. Although there are only a handful of stalls which are Halal, at least most of them are really good 😀

Case in point – Burgernomics.
Their mission? To churn out burgers that are not just tasty but also at a price that will leave you enjoying your meal even more (and possibly even going for 2nd and 3rd rounds LOL)

And handful of burgers on the menu plus a few sides (that are totally worth checking out), you’ve got some classics there but also a few that might appeal to those looking for something a little different once in awhile.

The Classic is exactly as the name implies – it’s a no fuss no muss burger that has all the classic elements expected out of a good ol’ cheeseburger 😀

An all-beef (Australian beef woi!) patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion (for that extra kick!) some chili mayo and, of course, some cheese! This turned out to be one of the faves of the visit.

Straight-jack I can tell you that THIS was my favourite burger out of all the burgers we tried so far at Burgernomics! In fact, it’s apparently the favourite choice of A LOT of people 😛 And I guess it’s pretty easy to see why! The Deluxe FTW!

The beef patty (same as all their beef burgers) not only REALLY well-cooked but just as importantly – well-seasoned too! Top that off with some sauteed mushrooms and onions, truffle aioli and not one but TWO types of cheese and you’re all set for one helluva burger!

Can you resist something called The Crispy Chicken? 😛

Here’s some deep fried goodness for y’all – a nice buttermilk fried chicken patty (chicken thigh of course!) that’s got a great crispy exterior and inside, tender juicy chicken awaits when you take a nice big chomp. Besides the creamy mayo (that always goes well with fried chicken am I right?), there’s also some apple and red cabbage slaw which gives a nice contrast of flavours.

See what meant by tender and juicy? 😛

Something to appeal to those of you who either want 1) something with a bit of local flavour and/or 2) not your average burger 😀 Presenting The Beef Rendang.

A ‘Rendang Burger’ is not exactly a new or unique thing to be honest. But what DOES make the Burgernomics version very unique is that instead of a beef/chicken patty, it’s actually…. JENG JENG JENG!!! PULLED BEEF!! Most of the time, Pulled Beef (if you can even find it) is commonly paired with BBQ sauce but in this case, the unique local Rendang flavours prevail!

Personally (and humbly), we think that maybe the Rendang flavours could be a bit bolder. It was kinda under the expectation levels in the flavour department but with a bit of tweaking, this could be even better! Biasa lah, always looking for extra spicy and extra sedap 😛 But it does seem like a big hit with quite a few people!

THIS ONE IS A MUST HAVE!!!

The unassuming dish name ‘Wings & Fries‘ might actually be a bit too humble LOL they should consider re-naming it to something like… ‘Kepak Ayam Sedap Giler’ or something like that 😛

Deep-fried chicken wings (always a good thing) coated in sweet, sticky kicap manis, some lime juice for a bit of a twist and some chili flakes for more kick. And trust us – they definitely give more kick! Anyways, no need for us to say so much – you go and try for yourselves and see what we mean okay!

PS got some fries on the side too eh

Here’s another one you might find hard to resist – Chili Cheesy Beef Fries!!

Beef Chili Concarne sits stop a bed of hot fries and topped off with cheese sauce and mayo for added effect. If you’re a fan of cheese fries, then there is absolutely no doubt that you should order this. In fact, we’d highly recommend for you to order this and share so everyone gets burgers and a little extra too.

They also have Cajun Fries and Cheese Fries too but…. hey… can you really resist the Chili Cheesy Beef Fries? 😛
