Singapore Food Festival 2021 – Savour Singapore in Every Bite!

The Singapore Food Festival (SFF) is BACK and the 2021 edition is bigger and better than ever! Our love for makan means we’re always going to find ways to celebrate our Singaporean foodie culture πŸ™ŒπŸΌ. That’s why SFF 2021 will be held in a hybrid format for the first time ever and will run between 27 August to 12 September!

There is an absolute plethora of activities and experiences, both online and in-person, to satisfy the foodie in you. Everything from interactive gastronomic experiences like Live Masterclasses and Virtual Food Tours to Exclusive Experiences and even time limited SFF 2021 food merchandise too! This means you can get the insider experience no matter where you are enjoying SFF 2021 from!

First up are the Live Masterclasses and there are a total of EIGHTEEN Live Masterclasses for you to enjoy this SFF 2021! They’re being split into 9 free-to-view (on the Singapore Food Festival Facebook page) and 9 paid Live Masterclasses where you can either participate in-person at The Refectory and virtually via Zoom (and they’ll send the ingredients kit to you to cook along at home!). You can check out the full list HERE ok!

At the top of my list is The Padang-Style Burrito Live Masterclass being helmed by Chef Ariff Zin from the legendary Rumah Makan Minang! I love the food at Rumah Makan Minang and I also love a good burrito and am super stoked to try this one! Combining the flavours of Ayam Gulai, Acar Padang and laced with Balado Ijo and Rendang sauce into a burrito – sign me up! πŸ˜€

The Padang-Style Burrito Live Masterclass will be held on 27 August, Friday at 5pm.

Here’s another Live Masterclass I’m looking forward to – the #KIAPTOGETHER session! We’ll be preparing Bun Cha Taco with Omnimeat as the key ingredient. Best part is that Omnimeat is certified Halal! Look like more fusion is on the cards with the Bun Cha Taco incorporating some Thai and Western influences here.

TheΒ #KIAPTOGETHER Bun Cha Taco Live Masterclass will be held on 12 September, Sunday at 5pm.

That’s something I love about these SFF 2021 Live Masterclasses… we get the expertise to guide us along but we also get to tweak the recipe to make it suitable for our own custom dietary requirements! I have already spotted some other interesting Live Masterclasses where I can make my own adjustments to the ingredients and make it Halal and also healthy! That’s right – I’m looking at you Buah Keluak Babka Baking Bash and The Boyster Omelette πŸ‘€ Just swap some ingredients to Halal ones and you get to enjoy the experience too!

Even for the Free-to-View Live Masterclasses, you can purchase ingredient kits or food bundles so you can either participate in the fun or just enjoy the fun of eating the finished product 😝. Prices vary and are very affordable! Check out the full list and sign up HERE ASAP.

And speaking of Free-to-View…

There’s plenty of content that already available for your viewing pleasure at www.singaporefoodfestival.sg! They’ve got exclusive content such as Behind the Brand: Kim Guan Guan, Kitchen Insider: Sustenir, Kitchen Insider: KitchenAid, Recipe Video: OmniMeat and even a Kok Fah Guided Farm Tour too.

But my personal favourite has got to be the Virtual Food Tours where host Nikki Muller brings us on a virtual look-see around Tiong Bahru and Little India! It’s interactive so you get to make a few choices as you go along. You’re in for some great insight into places you think you may be familiar with. There’s actually so much more to experience. Case in point – the Yakader Dum Briyani and more at Tekka Market 😁.
