Thai cuisine is probably one of the most popular cuisines here in Singapore. There’s just something about the bold, spicy, tangy and SHIOK flavours that just seems to resonate with our taste buds am I right? Plus, there are so many different dishes to enjoy – and we can find them at Saveur Thai 🙌🏼
They’ve got everything we need for a Thai feast fit for a king. You already know you’re spoiled for choice as you browse the menu. They’ve got so many great options from Appetisers to Mains and even Desserts 🤤. The good news – that we have savoured some of their dishes for you including some of their signatures too. Trust me – it was our pleasure 😝 So let’s run it down!
I’m going to start with a dish that is a MUST HAVE when you dine at any Thai restaurant – Tom Yum Soup! And I have to say that the Tom Yum Tiger Prawn Red Soup at Saveur Thai is SUPER SHIOK 🔥 In fact, I’d say it’s extra shiok because it’s served in a flaming pot so it’s extra sedap as you slurp it up.
They actually have ELEVEN different Thai soups for you to enjoy also including Signature Isan Beef Clear Soup, Tom Yum Chicken Clear Soup, Green and Red Curries and even Thai-style Chicken Feet Soup too.
Plenty of fresh and delicious seafood too at Saveur Thai. The Chu Chee Tiger Prawn is a dish I’d never tried before but found it not bad for a first time. In case you’ve never heard of or tried Chu Chee before (like me!), it’s actually a type of Thai curry. Here the prawns are dressed with Chu Chee and some Coconut Milk is drizzled over them for an extra creamy flavour kick. The dish is not served hot so I liken it to kind of like a salad/appetiser dish. Worth a try if you like prawns!
The Steamed Mussels with Thai Lime Sauce will probably be something a lot of y’all enjoy too. It’s served in a warming tray so you get to savour those fresh Mussels and tangy Thai Lime Sauce #HotHotShiokShiok all the way 😁 There are a few other seafood dishes that I’ll run through later but I wanna show you one of their top signatures first.
This is dish that will make you go FUYOH! The Isan Grilled Black Angus Beef with Spicy Thai BBQ Sauce is a MUST TRY when you visit Saveur Thai let me tell you!
Isan actually refer to Nothern Thailand (I’m learning so much!) where this dish has its roots. You may see it served as a salad on the menu too but if you’re a pure carnivore then this dish gives you the best of the meat! The Grilled Black Angus Beef is sliced and lightly grilled. Enjoy it with the Spicy Thai BBQ dipping sauce for maximum enjoyment 💥 Highly recommended!
Here’s a pair of dishes that I figured you might want to try. One is a personal favourite of mine and the other is a popular classic Thai dish that you’ll see many enjoying.
The Golden Fried Seabass with Mixed Thai Herbs is a dish that is right up my alley. It’s got a fresh Seabass that’s been given the #DeepFriedGoodness treatment which results in juicy, tasty flesh and a crispy exterior. Top that off with a generous slathering of a sweet-spicy Mixed Thai Herbs sauce and you’ve got a winner! (Gotta be honest – my mouth is watering just looking at the pic)
Next up is a dish that I think will appeal to the purists. The Salt Baked Tilapia may seem like a simple dish but it’s a classic when it comes to Thai food. I guess it may seem like a rarity because not many Halal makan places serve it. Well great news that they serve it here at Saveur Thai. The fish is seasoned simply and baked in salt. The result is a dish where you can enjoy the rich flavour of the fish that’s been simply baking in the flavour of the salt. Enjoy with hot rice and the chili sauce that comes with and you’re sure to evoke that Thai kampung feel. No wonder this dish is such a big hit – sometimes, simple is better!
As promised, more seafood dishes! In fact, I was browsing through the menu and they have more than a dozen Seafood dishes to choose from! I’m talking about specific Seafood dishes only… not yet including those soups and side dishes that may also include seafood in them 😮
The Signature Steamed Giant Squid with Thai Lime Sauce comes bubbling hot on a warming tray. I’ve enjoyed Thai Lime Sauce most of the time with fish like Seabass (which they also have on the menu here at Saveur Thai by the way). This is a sauce that simply goes perfectly with seafood in my opinion. A little sweet, salty, tangy and a hint of spicy. SHIOK!
Something a bit more classic is the Stir-fried Shrimp with Petai. A perfect accompaniment to any dishes you may be having. Other seafood dishes that may tickle your fancy include Wok-fried Seafood with Thai Chilli Paste, Tom Yum Fish Head, Deep-fried Seabass with Mango Salad and Deep-fried Seabass with Thai Soya Sauce just to name a few. Plenty of Vegetable and Omellette choices on the menu too!
And no Thai feast would be complete without some Thai desserts 😁
I went with the classic Mango Glutinous Rice which was SEDAP! But they are plenty more to choose from including Red Ruby with Coconut Ice Cream, Caramelised Tapioca (another Thai classic), Thai Iced Chendol, Coconut Ice Cream plus a whole host of beverages too. Thai Milk Tea and Home-brewed Lemongrass are always good choices along with Ice Blended Coconut or Mango. But to be honest, I know I shouldn’t but the Watermelon Red Bull Shake has caught my eye 👀
Our first visit to Saveur Thai was awesome for so many reasons. Great food and great service! Plus we haven’t even scratched the surface of trying out more dishes on their extensive menu! We’ve featured quite a few dishes here here but there are SO MANY MORE to enjoy.
I haven’t even started on their Fried Rice and Fried Noodle dishes like Pad Thai, Vegetable dishes like their Hotplate Seafood Tofu and their Premium Beef & Chicken and Boat Noodle dishes 🤯 So many choices at Saveur Thai!
@thehalalfoodblog FUYOH Savêur Thai has got some power Thai food 🔥 #halal #makan #food #tiktoksg #fyp
