Have you been to the Geylang Serai Bazaar yet? Plenty to see and eat (and buy and sweat) right LOL π Well, I hope y’all have not been missing out on this – especially if you’re fans of Hyde & Co. and have been missing them!
Yassssssssssssss Hyde & Co. are operating at not just one but TWO locations at the Geylang Serai Bazaar this year! They’ve got a corner stall at the space behind Tanjong Katong Complex (as part of the TKC Collective) and another located at the new Wisma Geylang Serai!
Now that I think about it, they’ve even got TWO different concepts for you to experience!
Hyde & Co. and Island Hydeaway are ready to serve you!
At Hyde & Co.’s stall, tuck into special creations including their signature Chili Crab Pasta (SEDAP GILER) which is bound to be a big hit. Or perhaps the alternative Laksa Hae Bee Hiam Pasta might be more up your alley?
One of the new items making an appearance on the menu is the – Crispy Chicken Rendang!
LOL yes the Masterchef debacle still rings clear in our minds and Hyde & Co. has come up with their version of this ‘legendary’ dish. Be sure to enjoy it fresh and hot for maximum effect okay! π
Whichever Main dish you choose, be sure to pair it up with either Cheese or Truffle Fries. Totally addictive especially when it’s piping hot – confirm plus chop it’s gonna finish in a flash. (Truffle Fries is our fave!)
Wash it all down with a Bandung Float – they have a BIG cup of Rose Syrup for you and it’s topped off with some Vanilla ice-cream which you mix in and the milky result is… Bandung! JENG JENG JENG π
But like we said, Hyde & Co. is not the only concept to be enjoyed. You should also check out Island Hydeaway! It’s.. well.. same same but different? LOL Bottom line is that they have more food and it’s delicious π
Yes – Island Hydeaway is from the same culinary genius minds behind Hyde & Co. and the food served under this brand is a bit more… chillax. Hence the name which evokes a feeling of the kind of food you’d enjoy while chilling with your friends and you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty π
First up was the Swedish Meatballs and trust us – this is not your average meatball okay people. This was HANDS DOWN one of the best things I ate at the stall! The meatballs themselves were super tasty and just the right texture (unlike some meatballs which can be kinda tough due to overcooking or adding too much binding agent aka flour). The Lingonberry jam gives you a nice contrast to the beefy flavour of the meatballs and brown gravy. And everything sits stop a bed of mashed potatoes! A meal in a cup! Settled the kettle y’all!
Admit it – you have a soft spot for fries… especially the CURLY variety right? π
Well, Twister Fries fans rejoice because Island Hydeaway has got you covered so no need to get all… twisted.
Fresh and hot Twisted Fries topped off with creamy, seductive and (definitely) sedap cheese sauce.
What more could you ask for am I right or am I right? (PS they are GENEROUS with the cheese sauce!)
And this is the part where we apologize because there’s supposed to be photos of the Melaka’s Famous Coconut Shake here but we got so excited that we whacked the whole thing without snapping any shot LOL SORRY!
But what we can tell you is that the Coconut Shake is creamy, milky and has a mix of Vanilla and Coconut flavour. It’s not as ‘icy’ as you might expect which I like because this is great to gulp down especially if you’re in the heat of the bazaar.
The only other item we did not get the chance to try (along with the Laksa Hae Bee Hiam Pasta from Hyde & Co.) was the Gd Ol’ Coney Dog which sounds just awesome. I guess we have to make a trip back soon to try the remaining items!
