[RAMADAN] Hilton Singapore’s Pop Up Iftar Buffet – A Feast With a View!

Everyone loves buffets! During Ramadan, the pop-up Iftar Buffet at Hilton Singapore has been a favourite choice with many for obvious reasons. Great news! They’re back again this year for a 3rd edition and it’s better than ever!

Rejoice with family and friends at Hilton Singapore’s pop-up Iftar Buffet which is specially certified Halal by MUIS just for Ramadan. This experience comes literally once a year so don’t miss out!

Hilton Singapore’s pop-up Iftar Buffet boasts no less than 90 delicious delights to feast upon. This even includes 4 LIVE Stations! They’ve got everything including fresh Seafood & Oysters, a wide range of Salads, Carving Specials (like Whole Roasted Australian Beef Sirloin and Roasted Whole Lamb Ouzi), a plethora of Desserts and a whole host of other Buka Puasa Specials!

The delicious food is not the only thing to be enjoyed – soak in the spectacular sunset views as you dine from the rooftop level 24 of Hilton Singapore! We really mean it when we say you’ll be dining at the top 😛

The pop-up Iftar Buffet will feature a whole host of both International and Local cuisines including Indian, Moroccan, Chinese, Japanese and, of course, plenty of traditional seasonal favourites too. And as always, we want to run through EVERYTHING!

And I know we’d normally start with the appetizers but this time, we’re gonna go with the SPECIALS! 😀

Whole Roasted Australian Beef Sirloin

Roasted Whole Lamb Ouzi
Laksa

WOW! These are 3 of the biggest draws of the buffet! You simply cannot miss out on these okay!

If you think the Whole Roasted Australian Beef Sirloin is amazing just to look at, wait til you eat it! 😛 Super tender and tasty beefy goodness that’s sure to satisfy all you meat lovers out there! The Roasted Whole Lamb Ouzi has a great flavour as well. Be sure to enjoy with the special Basmati Rice and Mint Sauce that’s served on the side!

One of my personal favourites of the whole buffet was the Singapore Laksa. Rich and flavourful and super SHIOK! Made to order at the LIVE station – add more sambal for extra kick! I’m sure you’ll find it hard to resist getting more than 1 bowl 😀

And now, onto the appetizers!

Tongkeng Ayam

Keropok Lekor Ikan
Popiah

Pisang Goreng
Cempedak Goreng
Satay
Popiah Basah
Kueh Pie Tee
Seafood Dumpling

Chili Crab Pau
Siew Mai
Rendang Chicken Glutinous Rice

Would you believe that’s just ONE section of appetizers? 😛

Start off with some crispy, fried goodies like Popiah, Keropok Lekor Ikan and even some Banana & Cempedak Goreng. But I think a lot of you will be surprised (and pleased) to know there’s a giant basket of Tongkeng Ayam to be devoured! 😀

Satay is also always a good idea as is the Dim Sum. Chili Crab Pau, Seafood Dumplings and Siew Mai are hot faves but I personally recommend the Rendang Chicken Glutinous Rice! SEDAP! Popiah Basah and Kueh Pai Tie also feature so be sure to grab some as well.

Seafood on Ice

Assorted Sushi

Fresh Seafood on Ice! Get your fill of Canadian Oysters, Tiger Prawns and Mussels which are always a big hit. An assortment of Japanese delights like Sushi are also there!

Rojak

Acar

Kerabu Mango Salad with Prawn

Thai Chicken Salad

Fish Ball Broth
Oxtail Soup

A range of Soups and Salads are also a good start to your Iftar meal. Fish Ball Broth is a familiar favourite (and I found it great for the kids!) and Oxtail Soup gives you a nice hearty and full flavour.

Salads include Kerabu Mango Salad with Prawn and Thai Chicken Salad but don’t be afraid to mix up your own Rojak! 😀

And now onto one of my favourite sections of the buffet (even in previous editions!)

Tabbouleh
Babaganoush
Labneh
Moutabel
Hummus

Couscous Tfaya with Caramelized Onions and Raisins
Spicy Chicken Liver

Shellfish with Fennel & Harissa
Chicken Kebab Maghdour

Ginger & Honey Lamb Tagine

Chef Tazi is back with more Moroccan delights! This guy is a master of Moroccan cuisine and Tagine cooking! You can start with the lighter stuff before moving on to the more filling dishes. Hummus (Chickpea & Tahini) and Babaganoush (Eggplant) are always a great start with an Mediterranean meal but be sure to try lesser known dishes like Moutabel (Spicy Aubergine) and Labneh (kinda like a yoghurt-y cheese). All best enjoyed with Pita!

The main dishes include Couscous Tfaya with Caramelized Onions and Raisins (one of the faves from last year), Shellfish with Fennel & Harissa, Spicy Chicken Liver, Chicken Kebab Maghdour and my personal fave from this year’s line-up – Ginger & Honey Lamb Tagine 😀

And finally, we are at the Mains 😛

Nasi Goreng Kampong
Spiced Beef Rendang

Ayam Goreng Berempah

Udang Sambal Petai
Mackerel Asam Pedas
Butter Chicken

ZOMG what a spread! As you can probably tell by now, this is a VERY BIG buffet spread. We’re spoiled for choice with so much good food to eat! So here’s a PRO TIP: Pace yourself! 😛

That Spiced Beef Rendang is a MUST HAVE and that Butter Chicken has me craving for more! The Ayam Goreng Berempah makes a nice comback and is the perfect pairing with the Nasi Goreng Kampong for sure. Any Udang Sambal Petai fans here? Don’t be shy!

Aaaaaand we’re at everyone’s favourite part – DESSERTS! 😀

But before we start, we’d like to point out the table/shelf above where the cakes are displayed. See those cookie jars? They have actual cookies in them and you can eat the cookies okay! LOL Just in case you were worried to do so.

Hilton Cheesecake
Carrot Cake

Apam Balik
Nonya Kueh

Kueh Lapis
Fruit Cake

Ice Kacang
Seasonal Fruits

Pulut Hitam
Bobo Chacha

They’ve got a good selection of both local and international dessert choices for this buffet.

Must-haves include the famous Hilton Cheesecake, DIY Ice Kacang and Bobo Cha Cha. But my (surprise) favourite turned out to be the Carrot Cake! There’s a good selection of Nonya Kueh and seasonal fruits too! Definitely a sweet ending to an epic meal!

Oh! And I almost forgot – wash it all down with a selection of refreshing beverages!
I’m not saying I have a favourite here but I can tell you that I drank more Asam Boi Limau Kasturi than any others 😛

  • Salam guys. Do you realise that the first picture of the buffet spread that you featured has a suckling pig right in the muddle of it? Or am I wrong? I wrote in to Hilton highlighting this but yet to receive a response as of of today, 13 May 2019.

    • Wasalam! Errrr actually I’m afraid you’re quite mistaken… That’s the Whole Roasted Lamb Ouzi. You can see photos that I personally snapped when I visited the buffet in our post. Surely MUIS would not verify this buffet as Halal (nor would we post about them) if they served non-Halal meats 🙂 Furthermore, we all know that scientifically pigs have no neck. That dish clearly has a neck protruding (pointed towards the top right diagonally).

Nonetheless, I have given my feedback to Hilton about their camera angles for future photoshoots 😛

Thanks and hope you head down to enjoy the buffet!

  • I had the same impression too when I saw the photo of this blog. But I gave that benefit of doubt. Clearly, how the photo portrays to others can be quite disturbing.

There is a saying “A picture says a thousand words”!
