The Winter Sonata series includes not only some of Namu Bulgogi signature favourites but it also introduces new innovative and delicious sides and flavours. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!
We’re starting off with the Namu Bulgogi Winter Sonata Feast that is available exclusively at their Hillion Mall & Northpoint City outlets. The feast features several dishes including Namu’s Signature Oakwood Smoke-Grill Oxtail, season special Toowoomba Tteokbokki and Cranberry Rosé Cream Tongdak-gui.
‘Tongdak’ translates into ‘whole chicken’ which is given the expert ‘Gui’ (grilled/roasted) treatment with Namu’s signature Korean Oakwood-Fire Roasting method 🔥. The result is Tongdak-Gui that is tender, juicy chicken with that perfect golden brown glazed skin. It’s paired with a cranberry–rosé cream that is rich and creamy with a hint of sweetness plus some cranberry sauce, pasta and vegetables on the side.
Enjoy your Tongdak-gui together with the pasta by mixing up cranberry–rosé cream. The smoky flavours go perfectly together as you slurp up that pasta and chomp down on that juicy, succulent chicken. I really enjoyed this especially the tender chicken and slurping up my pasta with that cranberry–rosé cream sauce!
PRO TIP: the Namu Bulgogi Winter Sonata Feast comes with a half Tongdak-gui but I’d highly recommend you upgrade to the whole Tongdak-gui for a top-up of $10 and you’ll even get to enjoy two choices of Toppings from a long list! Even more makan to enjoy 😬!
One of my favourite dishes on the menu at Namu Bulgogi is definitely their signature Oakwood Smoke-Grill Oxtail. I was so happy to see that this dish was part of the Winter Sonata Feast! I remember my first ever visit to NAMU and when I tried this dish – it was love at first bite ❤️.
Trust me, my friends – you simply won’t be able to resist that super tender and tasty oxtail that’s been given that signature Namu Oakwood smoke-grill treatment. On top of that, the dish sizzles even more with the beefy gravy that pairs perfectly with the oxtail. The oxtail meat is SUPER TENDER and packed with great flavour. This is one of their most popular dishes and once you’ve tried it, you’ll definitely know why!
PS besides the gravy that’s poured over the sizzling oxtail, I also enjoy some extra gravy on the side to dip my oxtail before each bite 😋.
With the upgrade to your meal, you can also choose some Toppings (which are essentially side dishes!) to accompany your Winter Sonata Feast! You get to select from a list of FOURTEEN different Toppings so there’s definitely something for everyone!
You can’t go wrong with a serving of Rice and Kimchi to enjoy with your feast. But if you’relooking to try and enjoy something new, why not select Garlic Spaghetti or Seasoned Fried Tteok. Other popular Toppings include Gimmari, Corn Cheese, Lettuce Salad, Mashed Sweet Potato and Spicy Korean Fish Cake & Bean Sprouts too.
Rounding off our Winter Sonata Feast was the very interesting Toowoomba Tteokbokki. I have enjoyed Tteokbokki (Korean Rice Cakes) many times in the past and cooked in many different ways too. But I have to say that this was definitely one of the most creative and unique versions of Tteokbokki I’ve had!
A bit of research tells me that this fusion version of this Tteokbokki has become very popular over recent times. While its origins include pasta, this creative Korean version includes Tteokbokki paired with ‘Toowoomba Sauce’ which is creamy and has a bit of kick to it. It’s definitely rich & creamy plus a little cheesy and spicy too.

Moving on to the Winter Sonata Duo which is exclusively available at Namu Bulgogi Tampines 1. You still get to enjoy the same tasty servings of Namu’s Signature Oakwood Smoke-Grill Oxtail and Toowoomba Tteokbokki. But instead of the Cranberry Rosé Cream Tongdak-gui, you get to saviour the Cranberry Rosé Cream Chicken Chop instead.
A succulent chicken chop has been expertly grilled over Namu Bulgogi’s signature Oakwood-smoke grill. The result is a tender and tasty chicken chop that’s paired with that delicious Cranberry Rosé Cream and cranberry sauce on the side. A marriage of flavours that will leave you wanting more 🔥.
