You may not recognize the name but you’ve almost definitely enjoyed some makan products thanks to them! ELLAZiQ is a local brand that’s been around for more than a decade! They are behind many of the brands we enjoy today. I’m talking about makan stuff you buy from supermarkets and convenience stores all the time!
Have you ever had El-Dina products like Dendeng and (my all-time favourite) Chicken Meat Loaf aka luncheon meat? How about their meat products like Sliced Pepperoni, Honey Baked Turkey Ham and assorted sausages π Well, that’s just the tip of the iceberg! I haven’t even started on the other brand under their wing like Kizmiq and Heng’s!
But how about I start y’all off with one of the most popular?
I’m talking about DENDENG!!! π
Y’all know how much I love Dendeng right?? I’m always happy to sample as much Dendeng as I can and El-Dina has 2 different types for you to choose from!
They’ve got a Dendeng Ayam Pedas for all you spicy lovers out there. I went with the classic Dendeng Lembu for a first try and it was good! The flavour of the spices is extra bold ? Totally cured my cravings for Dendeng LOL
Each pack of El-Dina Dendeng is about 500gm. I don’t know about you but I could eat 500gm on my own π The best way is to grill your Dendeng but if that’s not convenient then can always pan-fry or stick a few slices in your air fryer! The main point is that it’s convenient and you can settle that longing you have for a good Dendeng fix π
My first ever encounter with the El-Dina brand turned out to be one of my favourite items of all time from ANY brand. Their Chicken Meat Loaf is the Halal answer to luncheon meat and I absolutely love it!
There are so many ways to enjoy it! One of the best is to enjoy a few slices with your instant noodles ala HK style. It’s SO SHIOK lah I tell you. Super comfort food for me! Wanna make burger/sandwich also can. I would also recommend cutting it up into small cubes and throw it in a mix of baked beans FUYOH I’m making myself hungry!
Maybe I should start a cooking series so I can show y’all what I mean when I’m talking about all this dishes ah what do you think? π Anyways they’ve also got a Black Pepper and a Cheese version. But to be honest, I often find myself just slicing up it up and frying it up as it is. It makes a great snack π PRO TIP: Enjoy with some chili sauce + some mayo or cheese sauce!
By the way – El-Dina also has a range of Corned Beef/Chicken in a similar packaging!
Here’s another one of their big hits – Chicken Floss!
Now you might be asking “What can I do with this Chicken Floss besides just eating it straight out of the pack?” right? Well, you could try your hand at making some Chicken Floss Buns or make some extra kick coating for your sushi?
For me, I keep simple but it still gives extra kick to the dish – sprinkle a generous amount atop your fried rice! If you made Pineapple Fried Rice it’s lagi power π So far I’ve seen just this Original one and a Seaweed one. Here’s hoping they come up with a Spicy one next! ?
**BONUS ROUND**
Looking for a Hae Bee Hiam with a kick? Heng’s is also a brand under the Ellaziq wing and they’ve got a good Crispy Prawn Chili! A great mix of dried shrimps, garlic and other ingredients = SEDAP!
It’s spicy but don’t worry lah it’s not THAT spicy until you’ll burn your mouth off. This type of sambal is meant to give you more flavour than heat. Goes well with some many things! Use it as an ingredient when cooking or even as an accompaniment to your dishes π
Ellaziq also has a special and very limited edition collaboration with Hipster Bakes – Crispy Sambal Prawn Cookies! I’ve seen many around during CNY period but it’s so hard to find a Halal one (I’ve only tried one before in the past!). But I must warn you – these cookies are addictive. This is a situation where once you start, you can’t stop π
Anyways, this limited edition product is available exclusively at Shopee so better stock up for Raya!
Well, that’s it for now folks! There are actually so many more products we could talk about. We haven’t even started on the Kizmiq range yet! But don’t worry, we’ll save that for another post π
In the meantime, you can get your Ellaziq brands like El-Dina, Kizmiq & Heng’s from leading supermarkets, hypermarts and convenient stores islandwide. You can also find their products online via Shopee, Lazada and Qoo10 – just do a quick search and their products will pop up!
