Chicken Ka Kee by Boon Tong Kee

True fans of Chicken Rice REJOICE! Chicken Ka Kee by Boon Tong Kee is certified Halal and they’re serving up some really authentic and delicious Chicken Rice and MORE ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ.

They’ve fast become a big favourite when it comes to getting your Chicken Rice fix. Chicken Ka Kee by Boon Tong Kee has even introduced some new dishes to their menu! There’s something for everyone to enjoy and we’re gonna share a bit of what we enjoyed there.

They had a pretty solid menu when I first visited in late 2024 but they’ve now got even more delicious makan for us to enjoy.

Chicken Ka Kee is actually brought to us by the legendary Boon Tong Kee. They bring decades of heritage and expertise with this new brand. Something that many may not realize that the brand is also in collaboration with another legend in Singapore – Jinjja Chicken!

That’s why you will see a mix of delectable dishes brought to us by this awesome collaboration of these two titans.

Signature Chicken Rice
Crispy Roast Chicken

Chicken Ka Kee (like Boon Tong Kee) specializes in Cantonese-style Chicken Rice. You will see that Steamed Chicken is their signature on the menu but they have also added Crispy Roast Chicken for those who prefer that too. But are really good so, obviously, their Signature Chicken Rice is a MUST HAVE!

You will see the dish served humbly with some light sauce and cucumber strips. But make no mistake – this dish is the perfect example of how something simple can be so delicious. You can tell they’ve really put a lot of time into perfecting their recipe and technique here! Pair it with the 3 usual suspects of ginger, thick dark soy sauce and their signature Chilli Sauce ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

The rice itself is also brimming with flavour. Plus it’s healthier too – premium grade rice that’s been crafted with Alchemy Fibreโ„ข. And the best is that it’s FREE FLOW RICE! So eat to your heart’s (and tummy’s) content ๐Ÿคฃ.

Signature Fried Rice with Chicken Cutlet

Salted Egg Chicken

In the mood for comfort food? Well, the Signature Fried Rice with Chicken Cutlet should be right up your alley. The fried rice is actually fried with the same chicken rice for that extra flavour kick! Pair it with a juicy and crispy fried chicken cutlet and you’ve got a winner.

And don’t forget – the fried chicken stuff is the expertise that Jinjja Chicken brings along here. So you know it’s GOOD ๐Ÿ’ฅ. I’ve gotta be honest. I think about this Signature Fried Rice. A lot.

And what’s a better pairing with Chicken Rice and/or Fried Rice? SALTED EGG CHICKEN! Just added to the menu and full of that #SaltedEggGoodness we all know and love!

Mala Beef Cube

Crispy Fried Chicken Wings Coffee

Here’s a dish that’s a bit of a rarity – Crispy Fried Chicken Wings Coffee. I remember having a version of this dish wayyyyy back in 2013 with Mein Bruder. I remember we actually both liked it a lot too. But the truth is that it may be quite challenging to find a Halal version of this Tzi Char fave.

Great news is that Chicken Ka Kee has got some really good ones! Sticky, sweet and definitely that bold coffee flavour. If you’re a coffee lover or want to try something new, this is for you!

Something else I’d highly recommend is the Mala Beef Cubes ๐Ÿ”ฅ. You get just the right amount of slight heat from the Mala that you can still enjoy the flavours of the dish. But the best part is definitely how TENDER the beef is! You’ve gotta try it to believe it trust me.

Poached Spinach with Assorted Eggs

Ok now here’s one that was a BIG surprise for me. I actually really enjoy having a nice hearty soup when I have my Chicken Rice and this was right up my alley. Plus it pretty much also counts as a serving of veggies if you ask me ๐Ÿคฃ.

So here’s a nice comforting bowl of Poached Spinach with Assorted Eggs. Plenty of spinach in a tasty, delicious broth. So how do we top that? We add eggs! And not just one but THREE eggs! Level up with egg, salted egg and century egg too ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ. A winner on all counts in my book!

PS they also have a Seafood Treasures Soup that’s packed with goodies and great for sharing too.

Sambal Seabass
Garlic Butter Clams

They’ve also got several seafood and side dishes on the menu at Chicken Ka Kee to enhance your makan experience. Plenty to enjoy with your makan kakis! Just recently added was the Sambal Seabass. Plenty of fiery tasty goodness ๐Ÿ”ฅ to be shared around with the fresh seafood.

Meaty options include Mala Stir-Fried Ribeye Beef Cubes, Boneless Paper Wrapped Chicken, Crispy Fried Chicken Wings, Stir-Fried Black Pepper Beef and more. I tried the Garlic Butter Clams and if you love Lala like me then this is the one you should definitely order. I like that there’s just enough gravy to slurp but the clams don’t drown in it so you can still enjoy the freshness and sweetness of the clams.

Crispy Beancurd
Crispy Kai Lan with Chicken Floss

And I enjoyed these 2 side dishes so much that I’m reserving a whole special paragraph for them. Take it from me – if you don’t have the Crispy Beancurd and Crispy Kai Lan with Chicken Floss, you’re gonna regret it!

I thought this was just those solid tau kwa cubes that were coated and deep fried but… these are actually those soft egg tofu cubes FUYOH! So you get a nice and crisp exterior that gives you that perfect bite but within is a soft, creamy piece of tofu. Enjoy it with that silky mayo on the side and you’re in heaven ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ.

And that Crispy Kai Lan was somehow crisp on the outside (especially the leafy bits!) and the stalks still so tender and not tough at all. Top it off with some chicken floss and how can I possibly resist! Super shiok and I’d order seconds for both of these dishes.

Banana Red Bean Pancake

Triple Sour Punch & Bandung

And of course, there’s no better way to end your meal at Chicken Ka Kee than with a sweet note. Plus wash it all down with some refreshing beverages too! You’ve got your pick of hot and cold beverages of course. I’d highly recommend the Triple Sour Punch for several reasons – it’s super refreshing, it’s super sedap and it’s super SHIOK! Pairs perfectly with the feast you’re enjoying ๐Ÿ˜.

And speaking of feast – don’t forget dessert! I found the Banana Red Bean Pancake a really pleasant surprise. I’ve enjoyed Red Bean Pancakes many times in the past but I never imagined that it combines so well with Banana ๐Ÿซ˜๐ŸŒ. If you’re in the mood for something else, the HK-Style Thick Toast might be up your alley. You’ve even got a choice of spreads – Nutella, Kaya and Biscoff too.

And guess what? That’s just a fraction of the dishes you can enjoy at Chicken Ka Kee! I really enjoyed what I’ve tried so far and am already making plans to head back to try more. Hope to see y’all there with your family, friends and makan kakis for a feast at Chicken Ka Kee.
