Here’s one that so many have recommended over the year and can you believe it – we finally made it to try the famous WoodFire burgers 😁. And now I’m wondering why the heck we took so long!
WoodFire has humble beginnings and has made quite a name for itself over the years. From one location, they’re now located over multiple locations across Malaysia and Indonesia! I’m talking 14 outlets plus 3 delivery hubs and 6 in Indonesia! Well, there’s gotta be some really good reasons why they’re so popular and now, we know why.
Their claim to fame is their burgers for sure. They’ve got no less than SEVEN different burgers on the menu and there’s much more now than when they first started. You can also enjoy smoked meats, have your picks of sides and wash it all down with some milkshakes.
We had our pick of outlets to choose from but we ended up at their Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (home of Johor Darul Ta’zim F.C. btw!) and I’d love to say we tried everything on the menu but alas we could only manage so much LOL 😅. But as you can see, it was an epic meal!
Okay lah why not we start with the burgers.
So we tried 4 out of the 7 burgers on the WoodFire menu. The ones that we didn’t try are the Gourmet Burger, Smoked Burger and the Stuffed Cheese Burger (which all look awesome in the photos btw). The burgers are actually pretty reasonably priced too. You can get your fix from as low as RM18.90 and the most expensive burger (the Brisket Burger) is RM38.90.
Speaking of the Brisket Burger, I reckon it was my favourite of the lot we tried. Besides the beef patty, it piles on the meat with streaky beef bacon and a slice of beef brisket for good measure. Pile on more trimmings including cheese, some veggies and pickles and you’ve got yourself a party!
I reckon a popular choice will be the Mushroom Burger. It comes complete with sauteed mushrooms and literally a hash brown on top of your beef patty and cheese. I’d say that’s a pretty good combo if not at least a filling one 😝. The BBQ Burger is perfect if you’re looking for a classic Texas-style burger. Crispy fried onions and a fried eggs with loads of BBQ sauce will make you wanna buy some cowboy boots and possibly a horse as you chomp down on this burger LOL. And last but definitely not least is the Double Patty Burger. And I literally mean ‘not least’ because it’s got TWO patties – one beef and one chicken – which is definitely going to settle your hunger pangs.
Whichever your pick, I think you can probably see why everyone is raving about their burgers.
As good as the burgers at WoodFire are, I have to give special props to this beauty right here. The Cheese Steak 2.0 may be messy to eat but bloody hell it’s soooooo good! The beef and the mushrooms and the cheese and the soft roll all go together so well ngl. And to be honest – I place this just as good as the burgers!
Besides the amazing selection of burgers, you also have a choice of some smoked meats too. At WoodFire, they’ve got Smoked Beef Rib, Smoked Chicken, Smoked Lamb Rib and also Smoked Brisket (which is the only one we didn’t get to try).
Overall they’re pretty tasty and an alternative choice if you feel like some BBQ instead of burgers. But to be perfectly honest, if I go to WoodFire and they’re famous for their burgers, I’m gonna go for their burgers y’know what I mean 😝. But at least there’s choices and something for everyone when you visit WoodFire. Prices for their smoked selection are between RM22 and RM70++ depending on your selection.
They’ve even got a selection of Fries by the way. If you want something more than just your regular Fries, why not go for some Curly Fries, Cheese Fries, Beefy Fries or Coney Fries. I honestly would have gone for some Coney Fries but we’d already eaten so much and I was about to burst 😅. Plus – we still had some dessert!
You can end your meal on a sweet note with some Waffles. They come with a variety of toppings like Chocolate, Banana & Chocolate, Strawberry & Banana, Nutella Biscoff and you can add extra toppings including ice-cream if you’d like. We got the Nutella Biscoff Waffles and they were definitely a hit with the kids LOL!

I can now understand the hype behind WoodFire. In fact, I think it’s an awesome story – from humble beginnings to the heights they have achieved now. And in my humble opinion, you can’t get to where they are if you aren’t doing things right. The burgers and food are awesome. They’ve got a great menu and good service. Plus you can find them at so many locations.
If you’re in a burger lover and craving a good one – I’d definitely recommend making the trip across the Causeway to your nearest WoodFire. In fact, I’d even suggest penciling them into your plans if you’re in Malaysia for an extended period. They’re very popular and for good reason. A burger with the works? The answer is WoodFire 🔥
