Maki-San – A-Yum Rendang Maki

Everyone’s favourite Halal-certified DIY Sushi brand is back with a new flavour! Well, not really new-new lah LOL it’s a familiar, legendary favourite BUT it’s definitely new in a Maki that’s for sure!

So what goes into this rather unique Maki you might be asking? Well, you needn’t worry because there’s nothing too extreme in this Maki – it’s made up of components that go really well together PLUS a new special Rendang component which will surprise many.

So in within the Nori wrap (or change it to Egg Crepe also can) and Japanese White rice, you’ll find Boiled Egg, Shredded Cucumber, Coconut Flakes, Peanut Anchovies, super Shiok Sambal Sauce and the star ingredient – Rendang Chicken!

When I tried the A-Yum Rendang for the first time, the meat portion was so solid that I thought it was beef for a moment then I realized it was Chicken! Generously-sized portion of the chicken means a better bite and the spice and lemak Rendang flavour we all know and love is ever-present.

But I wanna give a shout-out the Shiok Sambal sauce (which we had a hand in creating!) which you might recognize from another one of their best-selling special edition creations – the Maki Lemak! The sambal itself is really tasty and gives you the heat you desire 😀

Anyways, we talk so much also in the end, the best way to experience is to head down to your nearest Maki-San outlet (they have 16 islandwide!) and enjoy it for yourself!
