ZOMG have you all been to Our Tampines Hub yet?
This mammoth of a place stands now where the old Tampines Stadium used to be and boy oh boy is it packed with so much interesting stuff!
Officially opened on 6th August 2017 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and many of the facilities have already begun operations including the swimming facilities, library, 24hr NTUC, stadium, HomeTeam NS clubhouse and plenty of retails shops too! Let’s not forget the 24hr hawker centre too!!
Let’s run down what they have so far (because there should be more opening as time passes!) but you have to note that as some of the shops at Our Tampines Hub are relatively new, some of them are still pending Halal certification. We are including them in the list and will update accordingly when we have news but in the meantime, please note the ‘Status’ of the eatery which is indicated clearly.

1. Commonground
Location: #01-103

Status: MUIS Certified Halal
They’ve got pasta! They’ve got salads! They’ve got western fare! They’ve got platters!
Well, it does seem like they have a bit of everything don’t they! LOL
Commonground is brought to you by the creative minds also behind Pastamania, The Soup Spoon (and a few other brands) so you can expect quite a range of goodies to be enjoyed. So far, it seems to be mostly positive reviews! We look forward to dropping by soon to review some of their dishes for ourselves!
2. Tenderfresh Classic

Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Pretty sure a lot of you are familiar with the Tenderfresh brand right? This is the brand that has served us classic Western food at a lot of coffeeshops and food courts across the island for years! Well, they have recently expanded their menu and opened a few outlets of Tenderfresh Classic that serve up more than your average Western dishes but still at an affordable price range.
Looking forward to reviewing Tenderfresh Classic to see how much level-up the dishes here are compared to the fare we are used to at our usual coffeeshop!
3. Saap Saap Thai
Location: #01-100
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Saap Saap Thai‘s menu boasts not only familiar Thai favourites but also something that we have all been waiting for a Halal version to come to Singapore – Thai Boat Noodles! It may be an upsized version but it still seems super popular!
Also enjoy other iconic Thai dishes like Tom Yum and Mango Sticky Rice too.

4. Toasties
Location: #01-85
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Oh you KNOW you love y’all love Toasties right!
Tampines had the honour of having the first ever Toasties outlet and now, we’ve got TWO outlets here! Woot woot!
Freshly baked breads. Premium ingredients. Mouth-watering sandwiches and side. Plus an expanded menu. What else do we need? Toasties FTW!

5. Encik Tan
Location: #01-12
Operating Hours: 24 hours Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Encik Tan is the best place to head to if you’re not sure what you wanna makan when it comes to local Chinese food. They’ve got a bit of everything on the menu including favourites like Wanton Mee, Fishball Noodles, Fish Soup and Fried Carrot Cake among other dishes too!
Best part – it’s open 24 hours!
6. Hei Sushi
HEI SUSHI AT OUR TAMPINES HUB IS CLOSED!!
Location: #B1-K1/K2
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: Pending Halal Certification
Listed as the first halal Japanese belt Sushi restaurant in Singapore, this is Hei Sushi‘s 4th dine-in outlet! Enjoy your favourite Japanese fare like Sushi, Sashimi and also interesting fusion dishes too!
6. Rumah Makan Minang
Location: #B1-47A
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 9.00pm Daily
Status: Muslim-owned
Fans of their original eatery at Kandahar Street will be glad to know that the legendary Rumah Makan Minang is now also available at Our Tampines Hub!
Serving up some of the best Nasi Padang (Minangkabau style!!), they’ve been churning out delicious signatures since 1954 and now in 2017, they’ve got an outlet in Tampines!! Woo hoo!
7. The Pizzeri人n
Location: #B1-K3
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
They’ve got an outlet at PoMo in Selegie but I’ll be honest and say that I’ve never heard of The Pizzeri人n before I came across it at Our Tampines Hub. In fact, I wasn’t even sure if they were or were gonna be certified Halal…
But the fellas behind the counter were super friendly and confirmed that this outlet was undergoing Halal certification (the PoMo outlet is apparently already certified) so I actually can’t wait because the pizzas look great and the smell is sooooooooo tempting!
8. Swee Heng 1989 Classic
Location: #B1-40/41
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
A whole host of breads and cakes are on the line-up at Swee Heng 1989 Classic.
Looks really good and there’s always a crowd so we’re thinking there must be something pretty special to this place! Can’t wait to try it out ourselves!
9. Qiji Express
Location: #B1-K7
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
We’re all pretty familiar with the Qiji brand. In fact, they’ve got an outlet nearby at Century Square! This one at Our Tampines Hub is more of a kiosk. It’s got some seating but pretty limited so most probably good for takeaway!
Their Popiah is legendary plus don’t don’t forget other favourites like their Nasi Lemak and Laksa!
10. Polar Puffs & Cakes
Location: #B1-44
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Here’s a homegrown brand that has been churning out goodies since 1926 and now, they’re bigger than ever! Polar Puffs & Cakes! They’ve got a great range of puffs and cakes like their Curry Puffs and their famous Sugar Rolls but my personal favourite is their Chicken Pie!
11. Old Chang Kee
Location: #B1-42
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Another local brand that needs no introduction – Old Chang Kee!
Legendary Curry Puffs that now boast more than variety than ever plus some of the best snacks to be enjoyed on the go! We’re talking deep-fried goodness at its best!
12. KFC
Location: #01-13
Operating Hours: 8.00am til 10.30pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Some fast food joints also available at Our Tampines Hub and KFC is actually one of our favourites (Original Recipe FTW!). Great place to stop by with the family for a quick treat!
PS this was originally supposed to be a 24hr outlet but I guess they scrapped the idea… Pfffft.
12. Pizza Hut
Location: #01-14
Operating Hours: 8.00am til 10.30pm Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
Pizza Hut also has an outlet at Our Tampines Hub in case you’re looking for that Pan Pizza fix.
But it’s worthy to take not that this is a Pizza Hut Express outlet which means it’s not exactly the same as dining at their restaurants. This means no Pan Pizza etc. It’s actually more of a takeaway outlet so expect to buy pizzas by the slice (and REALLY GIANT slices too!

13. My Briyani House
Location: #01-15
Operating Hours: 24hrs Daily
Status: MUIS Certified Halal
We see more and more My Briyani House outlets sprouting all over the island! Kallang Wave Mall and Marine Cove to name a few and now open at Our Tampines Hub!
14. I Am… Cafe
Location: #03-04
Operating Hours: TBC
Status: Muslim-Owned
A special treat (and probably a surprise to many) is the 2nd outlet of the famous I am… Cafe brand! Their flagship outlet at Haji Lane is always packed and this 2nd outlet at Our Tampines Hub is bound to be super popular too!
Integrated as part of HomeTeam NS, I am… introduces 2 special dishes that are available EXCLUSIVELY at this outlet namely the Squid Ink Pasta and The Quest Burger! Definitely a great place to come chillax with the family!

15. Eatz 19
Location: #01-84
Operating Hours: 10.00am til 10.00pm
Status: Muslim-Owned
Having relocated from their original outlet in Shenton Way, Eatz 19 brings its unique fusion cuisine to the heartlands at Our Tampines Hub! Trivia: Eatz 19 gets its name because it maintains no less than 19 dishes on their menu at all time to match their name! Now that’s what I call ‘living up to your name’ 😛
Plenty to be enjoyed on the menu especially if you like pasta! Must-try dishes include the Soft Shell Chili Crab Pasta, Sambal Seafood and Szechuan Chicken among others!!

16-25. Hawker Centre
Location: Level 1
Operating Hours: 24 Hours
Status: Some stalls MUIS Certified Halal Pending certification / Muslim-Owned
Oh yes! The Hawker Centre at Our Tampines Hub is open 24 hours!
It’s got 40 stalls altogether of which at least 10 are suitable for Muslim consumption. That is to say, it’s either Muslim-owned or (pending) Halal.
The general guide is to look for the Green signboards but then again not all of them have green-coloured signboards but at least they are all in the same area. If it is not obviously Muslim-owned, look for an advisory that is usually pasted on the top right (on the signboard itself) that will advise on the status of the stall while Halal certification is pending.
We saw a few of the stalls (including Warong Kim and the Indian cuisine stall) that have the advisory stating they have engaged a Halal consultant and that the certification is currently being processed! Can you spot the advisory notices in the photos below?
Needless to say, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to the stall at the 24hr Hawker Centre am I right? I’m already thinking about what I’m gonna order from each of the stalls LOL
So there you have it – (more than) 25 places you can makan at the new Our Tampines Hub!
