The Manhattan FISH MARKET – Beefier Catch

So we were walking around Changi City Point one fine afternoon and it was time for lunch. We are always spoiled for choice but we were having a bit of a problem deciding where to settle down for our meal. And then we saw it – The Manhattan FISH MARKET seemed like they were having a new promo menu!

The last one we tried was the Flaming Boston Lobster! And this time… BEEF RIBS!
Yeah that’s right you read correctly! Beef Ribs at The Manhattan FISH MARKET!!! LOL

So the new promotional menu was made up of some familiar The Manhattan FISH MARKET favourites being paired up with some beef in the dish. In the end, I simply could not resist the ribs.

So I decided to have a little Surf & Turf so to speak. A dish with a beef rib that had been oven-baked for 12 hours (!!!) and paired with a pair of Flaming Prawns (which I absolutely love!)

Hmmmm… The Beef Rib is marinated with rosemary, thyme, oregano, garlic and French Mustard and then oven-baked for 12 hours so you can rest assured the meat is properly cooked. It also comes with some brown gravy which has a little black pepper flavour in there so it goes really well.

The Flaming Prawns were a delight as usual. I love the creamy flavour!
I guess the only issue I had with the dish was more to do with the presentation of the dish.

I appreciate the spice rub they use to marinate and season the beef ribs but because it’s left on the meat, it kinda rubs off on everything else on the plate too. That includes the mashed potatoes (as you can see from the picture above). The result is a view that is less than appetizing to me. Maybe I’m just being fussy but it made a big difference to me to be perfectly honest.

Yeah it looks different (and much cleaner) in the picture. I’m not expecting a flawless piece of meat but I guess I just wasn’t expecting what I got. If that makes any sense. The sight and the taste of it on everything on the plate (except my beloved Flaming Prawns) was a little too much for me I’m sorry.

If you prefer some fish instead of prawns, for the Oven Baked Beef Rib & Grilled Ocean Perch. You can also pay a little extra to swap the fish for Salmon or Cod too!

Or if you prefer something other than ribs, try the Beef Patties that comes in either burger or free form and accompanied by some super fresh seafood!

Adam’s Verdict:
Oven Baked Beef Rib with Flaming Prawns 2.5/5

A very interesting idea by The Manhattan FISH MARKET and it’s very nice to see them very actively trying to expand their menu. They have grown from strength to strength over the past year or so and gaining many fans! One of them being my Darling Wife who has taken quite a liking to The Manhattan FISH MARKET since the launch of their new menu!

Anyways I’m sure everyone has their favourite item on the menu at The Manhattan FISH MARKET.
In case you missed it, mine is the Flaming Prawns! LOL
