[RAMADAN] Famous Satay Burger – Celebrating 12 Years of SEDAP!

Do you remember the first time you had a bit of a Famous Satay Burger? I remember it vividly. In fact, I even have a photo of it πŸ˜›

The year was 2010 and it was at Geylang Serai Bazaar. The blog was not even started yet at that point! Famous Satay Burger had already been around for 2 years at that time and although I had seen it around, I had never tried it. I guess I just thought that if I wanna eat Satay, I’d just eat Satay right?

Well, I soon learned how awesome this burger is and I’ve had it every year since!
Famous Satay Burger are celebrating their 12th year this Ramadan and they’re not only going strong, they’ve added a whole range of items to their menu.

But let us start with the ultimate OG Satay Burger!

If you remember the olden days (chey like macam I datuk already), when you visited Famous Satay Burger they used to press their patties on-site at their stall. You’d see a whole tray of glorious balls of meat and they’d have this big metal patty press (hand-operated!) to press those patties into shape.

Well, those days are gone because of regulations etc so they prep their patties in their central kitchen now. But these patties are just the start of building their awesome Satay Burger.

I used to think that their Satay Burger was just like a normal burger patty (like maybe using Ramly patty or something) and then just top up with Satay sauce. I WAS SO WRONG! Famous Satay Burger patties are marinated and seasoned just like actual Satay. That means you get the flavour of Satay but in a patty form! And of course, they add more stuff as your burger assembles.

You have a choice of meats for your burger by the way – Beef, Chicken, Lamb or Deer!
And they also have Single patty or Double patty options too.

Besides your delicious Satay Burger patty and buns, they also add some lettuce (because veggies are good for you!), cucumber and onions which not only add some freshness and crunch to your burger but these are also what you’d have with your Satay lah am I right? And finally, they squirt on some tasty Satay sauce for the finishing touch! πŸ˜€

A single Satay Burger is great but to be honest, I’d recommend you level up and go for the double!

Now THAT’S how you do it! πŸ˜›
In that video, you can see them assembling a DOUBLE Burger and you might spot an additional component there – a patty of Lontong! Literally simulating a meal of Satay lah!

That means you’re literally having Satay in a burger form and you’re getting all that Satay goodness in one bite! Which is exactly what Famous Satay Burger set out to do – satisfy those Satay cravings.

Anyways, they also sell other Satay goodies on their menu too.

Satay Goreng

Beef Wrap (Traditional)
Satay Wrap (Cheese)

Big John’s Sausage

If you’re not feeling like a burger, no problem! They’ve got a few other things on the menu including Satay Goreng (served in like a Bento style), Wraps and Sausages too! All of which have options of Traditional (which comes with a healthy serving of Satay sauce!) or Cheese!

Whatever your choice, you’re guaranteed a satisfying and shiok meal lah I can tell you that πŸ˜€

To celebrate their 12th anniversary, Famous Satay Burger has a special reward when you buy at their stalls this year! Get this card at their stalls (they’re at THREE locations this year btw) and every $10 you spend, you get a stamp. Collect enough stamps and get a FREE Chicken Satay Burger!

You can find Famous Satay Burger at 3 main locations this year – Ramadan Sultan Bazaar (beside Masjid Sultan), Bazaar Raya Utara (in Woodlands) and Our Tampines Hub Ramadhan Bazaar (in Tampines like duh!). They also have a few smaller pop-ups here and there lah throughout the month. My advice is to follow them on Instagram to keep updated okay!

Congratulations to the Famous Satay Burger Team for giving us an awesome Satay Burger!
