Fish & Chicks Part II

We visited Fish & Chicks for the first time evah about half a year ago when they first got certified Halal and have been hooked ever since! I mean, you’ve got makan that’s sedap and the best part is that it won’t break the bank! They serve up quality food that’s no pretentious at all – they let the food do the talking!

Part of the charm is that they operate out of food court environments which means you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed vibe with all your makan kakis. And of course, this is also what helps them keep the prices of their dishes down.

Well, their original menu was already amazeballs and they’ve goneย  level up by adding even more dishes! We had the pleasure of sampling some of the new stuff while also indulging in some familiar favourites ๐Ÿ˜›

Truffle Carbonara Pasta ($10.90)

First up is a new addition to their pasta line-up and it’s bound to be a big hit ๐Ÿ˜€
Presenting… the Truffle Carbonara Pasta!

Creamy truffle sauce and pasta are simply a match in heaven lah you have to agree right? That silky cream sauce has a great earthy flavour thanks to the truffle mushroom elements and makes for a slurping good experience.

The Truffle Carbonara Pasta comes paired with a Chargrilled Chicken cutlet for good measure. It turned out to be a great pairing so get a bit more bite to go along with your pasta. I had originally found myself wishing it was a fried chicken cutlet instead but I realized that Chargrill was best because they’re pretty generous with the sauce!

All in all, the most important is that it’s sedap and value for money!

Chili Crab Pasta ($9.90)

They had Chili Crab Pasta on the menu the last time we visited for an official review but we didn’t try it. Back then, it was paired with either fish or chicken but this time, I think they might have just found the perfect pairing!

A crispy fried Soft Shell Crab is the perfect accompaniment to this full-flavoured pasta! The Chili Crab sauce flavour really shines though here. Great balance of sweet and spicy and tangy as opposed to the usually overly-sweet sauces we get sometimes at other places. Just makes you wanna keep going and going for more LOL

And of course, don’t forget the runny, wobble soft-boiled egg that crowns the dish ๐Ÿ˜€

Soft Shell Crabs ($5.90)

Speaking of Soft Shell Crabs, they’re also available on the menu as a Side Order! Totally worth it for the extra bites and comes with the super sedap Salted Egg Sauce!

They’ve also got Fried Chicken Wings, Nuggets, Onions Rings and 3 types of Fries to choose from in the Sides section of the menu okay!

Mentaiko Salmon Rice Bowl ($9.90)

Fish & Chips Rice Bowl ($8.90)

Definitely new on the menu at Fish & Chicks are a series of Rice Bowls.

Mentaiko is always a favourite at Fish & Chicks (See their Mentaiko Pasta!! FUYOH!!) and they’re pretty generous with it on the Salmon for their Mentaiko Salmon Rice Bowl. 2nd option is their Fish & Chips Rice Bowl which features their signature Fish paired with a new Curry Cheese Sauce. Last but not least (and also not pictured) is the Chicken Cutlet with Salted Egg Sauce Rice Bowl.

All come paired with a serving of Fried Rice topped with a soft egg. The Fried Rice was lacking a little flavour (or was it just us?) but whack it with everything else including the sauce and it’s fine.

And in case you’re wondering – the new Curry Cheese Sauce is actually really tasty! It definitely is brimming with curry flavour and pairs nicely with the creamy cheese. Nice and thick and definitely worth a try!

Half Spring Chicken ($7.90)

This one is not exactly new on the menu but it’s still a REALLY good deal. Plus, we seem to be featuring a lot of Fish so maybe it’s time to show more of the Chicks dishes lah LOL

Pick Half or a Whole Spring Chicken and you won’t regret it. Can even share with 2-3 people if you wanna enjoy other dishes too. Best enjoyed while it’s hot so you can savour the crispy skin! Comes with Fries, Coleslaw and a special Minted Yogurt Sauce (which is new on the menu too!)

They’ve got a few other Chicken dishes worth checking out too including the Hawaiian Chicken among others ๐Ÿ˜€

PS THE SPRING CHICKEN IS REALLY CRISPY!

Best Of Both Worlds ($13.90)

And last but definitely not least, we could not visit Fish & Chicks without enjoying a serving of their Fish & Chips am I right? And we went for the big one again – The Best of Both Worlds!

Individual servings of Fish & Chips are priced at $10.90 each and you have a choice of either Salted Egg Sauce, Chili Crab Sauce and the new Curry Cheese Sauce. But we totally suggest you LEVEL UP and get The Best of Both Worlds which is essentially a double-serving so you get to choose TWO sauces and for $13.90! Totally worth it!

The sauces are made from scratch and were absolutely delicious (shout-out to the new and improved Salted Egg Sauce by the way!). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It’s great that Fish & Chicks is continually finding ways to add on to their already impressive menu and the new additions prove that their efforts can really pay off. And it’s not just adding new dishes but also making improvements to their current dishes and sauces. And to that – we say kudos!

Fish & Chicks now has 5 outlets island-wide (4 are certified Halal with the the 5th currently undergoing certification) so it’s time to gather up the gang and head down for a meal that promises to be one everyone’s gonna enjoy.

PS look out for special menus when you visit!
